It may be a variation of my post regarding ‚Unnecessary Imperfections‘ but there is a deep desire within myself to emphasize the focus of really doing something and see others walk their talk. While the mentioned post is dealing with problems arising when someone does not do their task or job properly my thoughts on this post are concerning inactivity or lethargy.
I saw or better heard lots of people wasting time by having senseless debates about things that cannot be changed anymore or – even worse – about things that are absolutely irrelevant to anything in life. And I always kept on thinking: Do you realize, what you could achieve if you spent your time in really acting or doing something? Others kept on telling me ‚Yeah, I’ll take care of that later on.‘ – and nothing ever happened. To be honest, I also catch myself in situations thinking or talking too much whereas I could have acted faster and tasks could haven been ended sooner.
While deliberating all my impressions of 2014 on this circumstance – for me surprisingly – quite a lot songs came to my mind that have a similar focus:
1. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Slow Cheetah
Everyone has so much to say
They talk, talk, talk their lives away
Don’t even hesitate
2. Elvis Presley – A Little Less Conversation
A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain’t satisfactioning me
Don’t procrastinate, don’t articulate
You have to be aware of one final thing:
Things that need to be done, have be done – no debate or discussion is helping out.
